I mean, come on, that title track is a real beauty, as is the mid-tempo 'More Love', especially when Al starts soaring, near the end of the song. I'd also like to add that I've never been a fan of 'L Is For Lover', infact I know that I have the CD and promo vinyl, but I haven't seen them, let alone listen to them, in years! But, in a complete turnaround then most opinions here, I'm rather fond of 'parts' of the 'Hearts Horizon' album.

You've gotta love 'Alonzo', from this album! The one song that I also used to love from 'This Time' was, 'Never Givin' Up', but the years have REALLY made it dated sounding, almost to the point that it's a bit taboo.

If they were to ever do a remastering of 'Jarreau', I'd love to have the original bonus track 'I Keep Callin'' (cassette and b-side only track, again, I have both).ДЄs for the 'This Time' CD, I have the U.S. I have both German Targets for 'Jarreau' and 'High Crime' and I also agree that there is lots of bottom end missing, otherwise, these are o.k. Still, 'L.' is far better than the twin towers of extreme mediocrity, 'Heart's Horizon' and 'Heaven & Earth'. I much prefer Jay Graydon's production style to Nile Rodgers' rather generic and uninspired approach. 'Across The Midnight Sky' and 'Moonlighting' is good as well but, otherwise, it's really rather ordinary. 'L Is For Lover' doesn't really do much for me, to be honest. For 'High Crime', I used my German Target and for 'Jarreau', I used the U.S. Just to satiate myself, I took my Warners CD's and tweaked them myself by adding more 'low end' and more overall level. My problem with the albums I mentioned is that the level is too low on them and, again, the 'low end' is practically non-existent. If we ever get remasters, they'll more than likely come from Rhino since the albums were Warners. Maybe that means that Rhino is already thinking about it (?)
